Meet The Face Behind BAIG LAW FIRM

I’m Abbas M. Baig, the proud owner of the BAIG LAW FIRM. I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

As a Barrister and Solicitor, I obtained my Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law. I also hold a Master’s Degree (MSc.) with Honors, and a Bachelor’s Degree (BSc.) with Honors, from the University of Guelph. 

After obtaining my law degree, I went on to article with one of the best civil litigation law firms in Ontario, focusing on personal injury and insurance defense. I have also argued motions before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and obtained various Orders from the Ontario Courts. I have also represented clients before the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB).

Since starting BAIG LAW FIRM just less than a year ago, we have seen rapid expansion, and more and more people are choosing our law firm to represent them with their legal issues.

Seeing my clients happy and knowing that they rely and depend on my legal opinion is probably one of the most rewarding parts of my job. My law firm’s philosophy is based on representing my clients with integrity and honor and tirelessly and fearlessly advocating for them and their families.

As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from others is my commitment to listening to my clients and understanding that each unique individual has their own story.

Client referrals have been the backbone of our success. Though we are hardly a year into operations, we have already opened over 175 files in our firm. This is astonishing, considering that it takes law firms years to get off the ground. I couldn’t have done it without the team at my firm. A law firm is only as good as its support staff. 

Recently, we won a precedent-setting case in the Ontario Superior Court. In other words, my law firm made law. Other lawyers and law firms can use our case as law. The case is 8443220 Canada Inc. v. V.G.R. Investments Ltd., 2021 ONSC 8258. This is just the beginning. We will continue to strive in court and hope to win every case we take on. 

I am a huge Toronto Raptors and Toronto Maple Leafs fan. I also have two little boys who always keep me on my toes when I am away from the office.  

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I operate my firm.
